The #1 Way To Make An Old Fashioned Milkshake!

THE BUTTER PECAN MILKSHAKE and THE FRENCH VANILLA MILKSHAKE

The Mayberry Momma, Jewell Kutzer Based on her Southern Recipe Book, Mayberry Momma’s Food For The Soul and Body.

By: Modern Culture's Kitchen

This recipe is taken straight from Mayberry Momma’s Food for the Soul and Body. It is more specifically from the chapter on Milk Shake Memories…

Devices/Equipment

Blender

Tall Glass for serving

Spoon

Straw

Recipe:

Heavy Cream – 1/8 cup per serving

Milk – ½ cup per serving

Nutmeg – whole grated for best flavor; ¼ tsp per serving

Vanilla extract – ¼ tsp per serving

Modern Addition -  Butter Pecan Ice Cream – 2 cups per serving

And we all know how memories sweetened with grandparents, are just filled that much more with love and fondness.

Now, we were recently in touch with the author, because we loved the milk shake, but needed to firm it up a bit to modernize it for today’s milkshake tastes and palatable expectations. She told us it was okay and suggested that maybe we use her favorite ice cream, Butter Pecan. So, you bet, Jewell, we’ve made the shake with Butter Pecan. Mmmm!

A modernized variation on her genuine old fashion milkshake because the old fashioned original milk shake was made with milk and the cream on top of the milk. the new modernized version is made with ice cream and still filled with memories, and now, it's ready to be filled with new memories!

So let’s fill our milkshake glasses! And we’ll do it the easy way!

MAYBERRY MOMMA, JEWELL KUTZER’S BUTTER PECAN MILSHAKE

Directions:

Put all of your ingredients into a blender and combine for just about a minute or two depending on your blender and how frozen your ice cream is and how many servings you’re preparing.

If your shake is too thick, add more cream and milk a little at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.

MAYBERRY MOMMA, JEWELL KUTZER’S FRENCH VANILLA MILKSHAKE

Again a little modernized variation of her original,.  Jewell suggested French Vanilla for the ice cream, and we just couldn’t resist. Thanks Jewell! Here’s to you, darlin’!

Put all of your ingredients in a blender and combine for just about a minute or two depending on your blender and how frozen your ice cream is and how many servings you’re preparing.

If your shake is too thick, add more cream and milk until you reach your desired consistency.

Just add a little liquid at a time and taste, of course.

A milkshake is a very personal experience, and a delicious one to share with those you love.

And the ones you love deserve the best milkshake possible so be certain to use great ice cream and real vanilla, not imitation.
